24-hour prayer campaign
This summer, pray.nyc is launching a Moravian-style 24-hour prayer chain each week from Tuesday - Wednesday. It will start at 9pm Tuesday evening and finish with Downtown Prayer & Worship on Wednesday nights (through the month of June) at St. Anthony’s of Padua Church on Sullivan Street.
Our vision is to mobilize believers from different ministries, churches and areas of the New York City and pray for spiritual awakening as a unified church.
What is Moravian-style prayer?
Modeled after the 120-year Moravian prayer meeting widely considered to have launched the modern missionary movement, we invite individuals, groups, ministries, and churches to participate . Partnering together, we can cover the city in prayer.
The Unbroken Prayer Chain will consist of: individuals signing up for an hour (or more!), groups can take multiple hours, and organizations can “adopt” a full 24hr day of hour-long slots, as many weeks as you’d like, to pray wherever you are.
“My name is honored by people of other nations from morning till night. All around the world they offer sweet incense and pure offerings in honor of my name. For my name is great among the nations,” says the LORD of Heaven’s Armies.
*All dates indicate the beginning of the 24-hour period from 9pm on the first day to 9pm the following evening.
